The problem

What slows down a Google Shopping launch.

A store that sells only through Facebook and Instagram ads misses the shoppers who search for products on Google. Five things slow stores down on the way in.

Google Merchant Center and Shopping setup: a grid of product tiles with a price tag and a gear
  • 01

A stack of separate Google tools

Merchant Center, the product feed, Google Ads, conversion tracking and policy settings are each their own Google interface with their own rules. Every one has to be right before an ad can run.

  • 02

    Suspension risk before you launch

For some violations Google gives a warning period. When it detects an egregious one, it can suspend the account straight away with no warning.

Source: Fixing Merchant Center warnings and account suspensions (Google Merchant Center Help)

  • 03

Wasted ad spend from a half-built setup

Campaigns on a half-built account can spend on the wrong products or run without working conversion tracking, so the data you collect cannot be used to optimise.

  • 04

    Policies spread across many pages

Business details, shipping and returns, and product identifiers are covered on separate Google Help pages, and Google logs Merchant Center changes in a public change log.

Source: Merchant Center announcements change log (Google Merchant Center Help)

  • 05

No time to learn it while running the business

Setup competes with running the store, and none of it earns anything until all of it is live.

What you get

Seven deliverables. All yours when we hand over.

This is full done-for-you execution, not a course or a consulting engagement. Every account, every credential, every piece of configuration belongs to you at the end of the 14 days.

  • Compliant Merchant Center account

Built from scratch (or audited and rebuilt if you have an existing non-suspended account). Business verification, shipping, tax, returns, category attributes, all configured to Google's current published policies.

  • Optimised product feed architecture

Feed structure tailored to your catalogue, titles, descriptions, images, pricing, GTINs and identifiers, built to meet Google's product data requirements for Shopping and Performance Max.

  • Google Ads account configured for Shopping + PMax

Campaign architecture, conversion actions, budget allocation framework, and bidding-strategy foundation set up so you can launch Shopping and Performance Max campaigns without rebuilding anything.

  • Website compliance brought to Google's bar

Legal pages reviewed (returns, privacy, T&C, shipping), trust signals implemented (contact information, About, SSL), payment and checkout flows validated. Done before the account goes live.

  • Feed automation set up

Automated feed generation from your store with real-time sync on inventory, pricing and availability. Error monitoring is configured so feed disapprovals are caught and fixed quickly.

  • Full conversion tracking & analytics

GA4 enhanced ecommerce tracking, Google Tag Manager implementation, conversion actions, cross-platform attribution. The numbers you need to optimise, not just see what happened.

  • 30-day post-launch technical support

Thirty days of technical questions answered after handover, feed issues, tracking validation, Merchant Center hiccups. Not ongoing campaign management; targeted operator support while you find your feet.

How we work

Four phases, fourteen days, one deliverable.

The build is sequenced so each phase de-risks the next. Compliance before account. Feed before campaigns. Tracking before launch. By day 14 you have an account that's ready to serve, not a draft you finish yourself.

  1. Phase 1 Days 1 to 3

    Foundation & compliance audit

    • Full store audit, products, categories, policies, technical infrastructure
    • Niche and category analysis against current Google policy posture
    • Competitor Shopping research (who's serving, with what feed, against what queries)
    • Legal-page audit, returns, privacy, T&C, shipping, and rewrite specs where needed
    • Trust signal audit, contact, About, SSL, structured data, payment trust
  2. Phase 2 Days 4 to 8

Merchant Center + product feed build

    • Merchant Center account created and business-verified
    • Shipping settings, tax, returns and policy compliance configured to current standards
    • Product feed structure designed for your catalogue size and complexity
    • Title / description / image / pricing / GTIN / identifier optimisation across the feed
    • Feed automation and real-time sync on inventory, pricing and availability
  3. Phase 3 Days 9 to 12

Google Ads account + tracking foundation

    • Google Ads account set up, linked, structured for Shopping + Performance Max
    • Budget allocation framework and bidding-strategy foundation in place
    • Conversion actions, GA4 enhanced ecommerce, cross-platform attribution wired up
    • Google Tag Manager implementation and event validation
    • Audience / remarketing pools seeded for the first month of campaign data
  4. Phase 4 Days 13 to 14

    QA, handover & documentation

    • Full system QA, feed approval, conversion-event firing, policy-compliance walkthrough
    • Written documentation of every account, credential and configuration choice
    • Access transfer, every account in your name, every login under your control
    • Operational training session (feed management, campaign monitoring, what to watch)
    • 30-day post-launch support window opens for technical follow-up
Who this is for · who it isn't

Check the fit before you book a call.

This is a productised service with clear scope. A 30-minute call confirms the fit before either side commits. Below is what we will and won't take on, read it before you book.

Right fit
  • Shopify and WooCommerce stores
launching Google Shopping for the first time
  • DTC operators
stuck on Meta and ready to expand to high-intent search demand
  • Brands scaling past hobby stage
who want a documented setup built for them
  • Operators who tried Google before
got frustrated, and want a clean rebuild
  • Stores migrating to a new account
after a previous business closed or rebranded
Not a fit
  • People who want to learn it themselves
this is done-for-you, try the Skillshop courses instead
  • Dropshipping operators
we don't set up or recover dropshipping stores
  • Stores selling prohibited or restricted products
firearms, supplements, certain CBD and adult categories
  • Operators with no paid-ads budget
a $0 ad budget on a $4,000 setup makes no financial sense
  • Stores still suspended from a previous account
start with recovery first, see the sister-page comparison below
How the setup is built

Four principles the build follows.

In plain terms, this is how the work is done and what you end up owning.

  • 01

    Built against Google's published policies

The build follows Google's own Merchant Center and Google Ads policy pages, covering business identity, contact details, shipping and returns, and product identifiers. The pages are listed below.

  • 02

Policies and feed checked before launch

The website, policy pages and product feed are reviewed before the account goes live, so problems are fixed before Google looks at the store, not after a warning.

  • 03

Built to grow with the catalogue

Feed structure, automation and account structure are set up so adding products or variants does not mean rebuilding the account.

  • 04

    Full ownership, no lock-in

Every account, credential and configuration is in your name from day one and documented in writing on handover. No proprietary feed tools, no agency-owned login, no subscription you can't cancel. We hand the keys over and walk away.

Sources

The Google pages behind the setup.

Every build starts from Google's own published pages. These are the ones that matter most for a new account. Each was checked on 16 October 2026. Google edits these pages, so the setup works from the current versions.

  • Misrepresentation
    Google Merchant Center Help

False or hidden business identity, contact details and shipping origin, and refusing a return your own policy allows. Google says it may review your listing, website, accounts and third-party sources.

  • The store must show at least a business address, phone number, email, contact form or social media business profile, and the business details must match Merchant Center.

  • How warning periods work, and that an egregious violation can mean immediate suspension with no warning.

  • Find a GTIN
    Google Merchant Center Help

What a GTIN is and where to find it, for the identifiers in your product data.

  • How to fix: Linked account suspension
    Google Merchant Center Help

A suspended Google Ads account linked to Merchant Center has to be fixed before the Merchant Center suspension can be reviewed.

  • Circumventing systems
    Google Ads policy

Creating new accounts to re-enter after a suspension is listed as a violation.

Search Scope also reinstates suspended Merchant Center accounts (50+ since 2025), and Dorian builds every setup personally.

When the fee adjusts

  • Multi-store or multi-country

A single Shopify store on one country target is the base scope. Multi-store, multi-domain or multi-country setups are scoped and quoted on the call.

  • Custom platform

Shopify and WooCommerce are the standard platforms. Magento, BigCommerce and custom stacks are scoped separately on the call.

  • Catalogue size

We assess the number of SKUs and products and quote accordingly. The $4,000 price is valid for a reasonable number of products.

The fixed fee is confirmed in writing on the 30-min call before any commitment. Never charged on assumption.

DIY vs done-for-you

DIY or done-for-you: what each involves.

DIY costs your hours and the weeks Google Shopping sits unlaunched. Done-for-you costs $4,000 and hands you a documented account. Side by side:

DIY approach

  • Your own hours across Merchant Center, the feed, Google Ads, GA4 and Tag Manager
  • Policy problems show up after you submit, as warnings or disapprovals
  • Tracking and attribution set up as you learn, with no one to check them
  • Rules spread across many Google Help pages to find and keep up with
  • Settings known only to whoever built them

Hire Search Scope

  • 14 calendar days from kickoff to handover
  • Site, policy pages and feed reviewed before the account goes live
  • Conversion tracking tested before launch
  • Written documentation of every account, credential and setting
  • 30 days of post-launch technical support included
  • Accounts, logins and settings in your name from day one

To size the delay, divide the monthly revenue you expect from Google Shopping by 30. That is roughly what each extra day without it costs you.

We don't set up dropshipping stores.

Our scope is stores that can show where their products ship from and who fulfils them. Google's Misrepresentation policy lists hiding or misrepresenting the source of product fulfilment, or the location products ship from, among the violations it treats as egregious (Misrepresentation, Google Merchant Center Help).

A $4,000 setup is wasted if the account is suspended afterwards, so we won't set up a store we can't build cleanly. We also don't take dropshipping recovery cases.

Please don't book a call if your store is a traditional dropshipping operation. If you operate a legitimate ecommerce business, Shopify or WooCommerce, with original products, licensed inventory, or a real fulfilment model, we'd be glad to take a look.

FAQ

Setup questions.

The 30-minute call answers the rest. No pitch deck, no proposal at the end unless you ask.

No. The point of the service is that we handle every technical decision and implementation step. You provide store access, business documents (such as your ABN or local business registration details, returns policy details, contact information), and approve the few decisions that need an operator call, category mapping, return policy wording, budget framework. We do the rest.

Shopify and WooCommerce are the standard scope. Magento, BigCommerce and custom stacks can be scoped separately on the call. Wix and Squarespace are not in scope.

No setup can promise that. Google makes the decision, and for an egregious violation it can suspend an account immediately with no warning period. The setup covers what Google's policies check, including business identity, contact details, shipping and returns information and product data, before the account goes live. If your account is suspended within the first 30 days after handover due to a setup issue we made, we resolve it at no additional cost.

Sources: Fixing Merchant Center warnings and account suspensions (Google Merchant Center Help)

No, this is a setup service, not ongoing campaign management. We build the foundation; you (or your in-house team or an ads agency) run the campaigns from there. The 30-day post-launch window covers technical questions, not campaign optimisation. Ongoing management is a separate engagement and we're happy to discuss it.

If your existing account is in good standing, we audit it against Google's current policies and fix what needs fixing rather than starting fresh. If it is suspended, do not start with this service. Start with GMC Suspension Recovery from $599. A new account is not a way around a suspension. Google says it may review your listing, website, accounts and third-party sources. A suspended Google Ads account linked to Merchant Center must be fixed before the Merchant Center suspension can be reviewed. Google Ads policy also lists creating new accounts to re-enter after a suspension as a violation.

Sources: Misrepresentation (Google Merchant Center Help); Linked account suspension (Google Merchant Center Help); Circumventing systems (Google Ads policy)

The $4,000 includes GST and is paid 50/50. $2,000 on kickoff after the call (when access starts and Phase 1 audit work begins), $2,000 on handover after Phase 4 QA and access transfer. No hourly billing, no scope changes after kickoff unless something fundamental shifts (e.g. a discovered legal-page rebuild). Multi-store, multi-country and custom-platform scope is confirmed in writing on the call before kickoff.

Our scope is stores that can show where their products ship from and who fulfils them. Google's Misrepresentation policy lists hiding or misrepresenting the source of product fulfilment, or the location products ship from, among the violations it treats as egregious. A $4,000 setup is wasted if the account is suspended afterwards, and we also don't take dropshipping recovery cases (see the notice on this page).

Sources: Misrepresentation (Google Merchant Center Help)

Yes. Campaign architecture, asset groups, signals and conversion-value rules for Performance Max are part of Phase 3. Demand Gen is set up where the product mix and audience match, typically lifestyle, fashion and DTC categories. We don't run the campaigns long-term. That's a separate engagement.

A retainer usually covers ongoing management and reporting. This is a fixed one-off build: every account in your name, every credential in your control, and complete documentation on handover. From there you can hire a manager, run it in-house, or pause and come back later. No lock-in.
